Professional Profile
With over 30 years of technical and executive leadership experience, Mr. Azam is a recognized expert in geo-engineering and sciences, hazard-risk assessments, environmental investigations, and remote sensing. Having served as Regional Director, Chief Operating Officer, and CEO, he brings a unique combination of technical excellence and executive business acumen. He has conducted and managed 300+ projects across 15+ countries in Asia, Europe, and North America, for public and private sector clients including the World Bank, ADB, and USAID, projects value track record of $1B+.
Mr. Azam pioneered innovative applications of airborne and satellite remote sensing for the detection of ground and groundwater pollution, infrastructure assessment, and hazard-risk monitoring. He is a recognized expert in slope instability detection and landslide risk mitigation. He served as a Member of the Expert Review Panel for the USAEP/USAID Technology Fund in Washington, DC, and spearheaded cooperative capacity-enhancement agreements between U.S. and Asian universities funded by the Department of State/USAID. He has published 15 articles in international journals.
Mr. Azam has published 15+ articles in international journals and has presented at several universities on geo-engineering-sciences and management. He is proficient is six languages spoken in Asia, Europe, and North America.
